This Russian pilot comes in to land at the Innsbruck Airport, missing the touchdown point and finally touching down 2/3 of the runway later. Guess some days are better that others…

Long landing at Innsbruck

Phantom low

There is a saying: “Given enough thrust, even bricks can fly… the F-4 Phantom is proof of that!” Check out this German F-4 Phantom as it pushes the limit further down with every pass. Must have been quite a spectacular sight, especially that last low pass.

Afghan Viper

On the rocky hills of Afghanistan there really isn’t much to do for the soldiers… and this is why they need a little bit of distraction. Guess a Viper coming in low and fast is quite a thrill for these guys. Actually, I pretty much think this is cool except the part where the Viper leaves us in a cloud of dust. Oh well, the F-16 is really an awesome jet!

Starfighter

The F-104 Starfighter is a truly legendary plane. Some remember the good, some remember the bad… anyway this red Starfighter performing some high speed low passes is probably a spotters wet dream.

French in flight

Compilation of Mirage, Mirage 2000 and Rafale footage. This video has everything, from low level passes in Chad to high altitude chases in the Rafale. Also some very nice footage taken from the French movie “Skyfighters”.

French in flight

This F-16 comes in for a very very low level high speed pass. Some might argue this Viper was way out low, but who cares… as long as the crowd was pleased :)

Very low Viper

Low Jaguar

Low level flight of a Jaguar caught on tape… great sound at the end!

Low Jaguar

This Harrier jumpjet comes in for a high speed low pass. That jetblast must have been really hot… anyway awesome pass!

Harrier crazy low pass

This video reminds me of a joke I heard some time ago. A young co-pilot performed an extremely rough landing… and such was the case that the company he was working at had a rule: the pilots of the aircraft had to stay near the door and wave their passengers goodbye. After his very hard landing, the young co-pilot did not have the guts to look his passengers in the eye. As each passenger passed in front of him the only relief he got was from hoping they will not pass any smart comments regarding his landing. Finally the last passenger was preparing to step out of the plane, an old lady… she approaches the co-pilot and asks him:”Son, did we land or were we shot down?”… that’s what first came into my mind when i saw this landing.

Son, did we land or were we shot down?

The massive low pressure storm system named Emma hit Europe with high winds and heavy rain. Gale force winds were recorded all over Central Europe. It is no surprise that this Lufthansa Airbus A320 was nearly blown off the runway by crosswind as it attempted to land at Hamburg on RWY 23. The pilot managed to avoid disaster in the last moment as the wing was touching the asphalt of the runway. The plane managed to land after a few minutes when the wind was calm. Passengers were pretty shook up after the incident and needed some therapy sessions at the airport.
