This is one very interesting way of launching a glider. During World War II many of these wooden constructions were used to transport men and equipment, towed behind C-47 Dakotas. I don’t think this launch method was widely used since it is a bit extreme and one might argue, somewhat crazy. Anyway, here’s the video of this weird launch.
This just shows what you can do when you take some skis, take a paraglider and let gravity do its work. I promised myself to try this crazy combination at least once before I die. Honestly, I’d like to see this stuff at the Winter Olympics. It really does add some spice to skiing.
You have to appreciate the elderly when they take on extreme sports. Of course, sometimes the do come a bit unprepared and can’t quite really seem to hang on to their teeth.
