This Hiller helicopter crashed while filming the 1978 film “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!”. The pilot was supposed to enter the frame at the same time the police car was rolling in… but he came a bit fast and had to flare hard thus hitting the ground with the tail rotor. Although the crash was unscripted it was used for the film. The funny thing is the crash used up more of the budget than all other aspects of the film combined.
I actually don’t know if this is a commercial or just a short film. Anyway, it features John Malkovich, two Spitfires and a blonde. Great combination. I especially like John Malkovich’s line: ” There are no real pilots anymore…just people in nifty uniforms who operate computers…” Hilarious!
A section of a highway is blocked off so that a plane can make an emergency landing on it. However, there are two people still driving on the highway: a man in an SUV and an old lady in a Lincoln.
