Of course the Mi-34 Hermit can’t go mad. But the pilot can :) This little Russian helicopter built by the famous Mil Helicopters is capable of some insane aerobatic maneuvers. Equipped with the same M-14 nine piston radial engine found in high performance aerobatic airplanes such as the Sukhoi Su-26 and Su-31, this little helicopter is capable of pulling 3Gs and can perform loops and rolls and stuff like that. It is in fact an absolute delight to see this one at work… soundtrack is good too!

Video of the Japan Air Self Defense Force ( JASDF ). The JASDF is the aviation branch of the Japan Self Defense Force and is responsible for the defense of Japanese airspace and other aerospace operations. The majority of military aviation videos that leak on the web feature the United States, Russian or French Air Force so it’s quite a rarity to see a video of the Japanese Air Force. This video features both the combat units of the JASDF as well as the aerobatic demonstration team of the Japan Air Self Defense Force, known as Blue Impulse. Great in cockpit footage taken from these aircraft.

Air Ray

Designed by Festo, the Air Ray represents an evolution in both biotechnology and hybrid airship designs. Modeled on the manta ray, the Air Ray is basically a helium filled balloon with propelled by a beating wing system. Festo says the Air Ray is designed to float in the sea of air in the same way a manta ray swims in the water. The Air Ray demonstrates incredible control due to Festo’s Fin Ray Effect® used to move this crazy airship around.

This is a former clip of the Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre – ALAT. The ALAT is one of the many Corps that form the French Army officially known as the Armée de Terre. The ALAT consists mainly of Gazelle and Puma helicopters and was established on 22 November 1954 for observation, reconnaissance, assault and supply duties.

Blue Angels

The United States Navy’s Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, popularly known as the Blue Angels, was formed in 1946 and is the world’s first officially sanctioned military aerial demonstration team, as well as the oldest currently flying aerobatics team. Check out this great Blue Angles video….

Series of autorotations performed with the French Eurocopter Ec-120 Colibri, one of the best looking helicopters in the world. Both external and internal camera views for this one. Check it out!

Check out this amazing little RC aircraft and the crazy things it can do. It looks as if the controller uses his airplane to challenge the laws of physics. Anyway great performance and great skills. This has to be one of the best RC videos out there.

Dreams

For 12 years the Douglas A-4F Skyhawk was the chosen plane for the famous Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. Between December 1974 and November 1986 the Blue Angels performed their routines with elegance and precision. Here is an old Van Halen video featuring the Blue Angels.

I’ve performed quite a lot of autorotations with this type of helicopter and I can assure you it is quite a thrill. Anyway, here is a full touchdown autorotation performed with a Eurocopter Ec-120 Colibri. Autorotation is used in helicopters in the unfortunate event of engine or transmission failure.

The Thunderbirds are the Air Demonstration Squadron of the United States Air Force. They travel the world and perform no less than 88 air demonstrations each year. The Thunderbirds perform breathtaking aerobatics with their F-16 Fighting Falcons and they make this look easy. “Thunderbirds run em up!”
